From filmmaker Tom Welsh, The Problem of the Wilderness¬†is a film set to the poem of the same name written by environmental activist¬†Bob Marshall. Marshall often wrote about the environment in Alaska, and when Welsh found a copy of the poem in his cabin, he knew he had to create a film. The writing resonated with him. “The purely aesthetic observer has, for the moment, forgotten his own soul,” Marshall writes, “he has only one sensation left and that is exquisiteness.” Find more from Welsh on his website and Instagram.
