In October 2019, Dynafit’s general manager, speed mountaineer Benedikt Böhm, set out to summit and descend Nepal’s Dhaulagiri VII. Getting to base camp—located at an elevation of 16,000 feet—and then continuing on to the nearly 24,000-foot peak required intense hiking and acclimatization. The hardest part of the challenge, Böhm says, was actually skiing down the mountain, since he’d depleted most of his energy getting to the top.
Böhm ultimately set a new world record for summiting the peak: 7 hours 53 minutes. Foresight, from Dynafit, offers a behind-the-scenes look at the expedition.
