Stretching from just outside Glasgow, Scotland’s largest city, to the iconic highland town of Fort William, the 95mile West Highland Way is a world-famous, multi-day traverse beloved by walkers. Over the past decade, a hardy band of mountain bikers have been vying for record times along the route. This film, produced by Wahoo Frontiers features professional mountain biker Rab Wardell, who made his first go at the FKT in 2012, completing the ride in 12 hours 9 minutes. His record was broken a few years later. But in 2019, Wardell was back again, setting his sights on reclaiming the record with a sub-ten-hour time. While he was training for the effort, however, rider Gary McDonald set the bar even higher with a blistering 9 hours 28 minutes, making Wardell’s goal that much harder.
