In Once Upon a Time, filmmakers Nicolas and Loris Falquet, Guido Perrini, and Joëlle Aerni look back on the evolution of Swiss freeride skiing, which began in the small town of Les Marécottes, where dedicated athletes used to shoulder their skis and bootpack into the backcountry. The short film follows professional skier Jérémie Heitz, whose career began in Les Marécottes and closely parallels the sport’s growth, ultimately leading him to the Obergabelhorn, the Lenzspitze, and other 13,000-foot peaks.
