So you love city life. (We’re not judging. We do, too.) But maybe you don’t love the smaller living space that often comes with access to urban culture and amenities. The good news: your confines and your gear stash aren’t mutually exclusive. Here, we present versatile equipment that is at home tucked behind the sofa or crammed into the coat closet.
Tern Vektron S10 E-Bike ($3,699)

E-bikes tend to be bulky. Not this model from Tern, which folds small enough to store under a desk or behind the couch. The motor gives pedaling assistance up to 20 miles per hour.
Primus Kamoto OpenFire Pit ($150)

Elevate car camping or tailgating with this sleek fire pit. The stainless-steel Kamoto collapses flat and pops up in seconds. An integrated ash pan helps leave no trace.
Alpacka Oryx Raft ($1,600)

Storing a large boat is impractical unless you have a garage or rent a storage unit. Alpacka’s new two-person raft deflates to the size of two paper towel rolls, weighs just under 11 pounds, and capably navigates flat rivers and lakes.
Trango City Sender Pack ($130)

As you leave for the office in the morning, stow your laptop and other work essentials in the City Sender’s dedicated sleeve and pockets. When you get to the climbing gym, grab your shoes and chalk from the vented pouch and zip compartment.
Fjällräven Övik Blanket ($200)

The wool-blend Övik looks cozy on the couch, then rolls up with leather straps for transport to the park or campground.
Petzl Noctilight Headlamp Case ($20)

Turn any headlamp into a lantern by zipping it into the Noctilight. The case doubles as protective storage and shields the buttons, so the light doesn’t accidentally turn on in your pack. Hang it from your tent roof or a tree with the integrated hook.
L.L.Bean Quick-Pack Folding Table ($150)

The Quick-Pack is ready to serve, whether you’re throwing a last-minute cocktail party or heading to a camping spot. With four built-in seats and nearly 14 square feet of table space, it folds like a briefcase for easy under-bed or closet storage.
Red Paddle 9’6” Compact Stand-Up Paddleboard ($1,900)

Half as bulky as many other inflatable SUPs, the Compact stuffs into its included backpack, so you can easily go from apartment to car to the water. The whole package weighs just under 28 pounds, pump included.
