The SoCal brand pays seamstresses in Uganda and Peru a living wage to make its apparel and accessories while also providing them with skills training and mentoring, so they can start their own businesses. About 125 women are participating in the three-year apprenticeship, crafting beanies, tees, sweaters, bags, and dresses.
