This week, we scanned Amazon’s bestseller list for the top sunscreens, then pulled the best, most authoritative reviews for each.

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen ($11)

(Amazon)

“If you are looking for something light to wear over your regular moisturizer, this sunscreen works very well. It looks white straight from the container but goes on sheer and makes your skin look more radiant. I wore this while out and about this weekend and didn’t get burned from the searing sun. With temperatures in the 90s all weekend it was great to know I wasn’t going to get sunburnt.”

Sun Bum Original Moisturizing Sunscreen ($14)

(Amazon)

This sunscreen is the best. I bought it for a trip to Mexico and managed, for the first time in my life, to come back from vacation without a burn. It worked all day from one application during a completely cloudless week on the beach, even after multiple trips into the ocean. It smells pretty decent, though my one wish would be that there was a fragrance-free option. It’s not too greasy and there is very minimal skin-to-clothing transfer.”

Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen ($13)

(Amazon)

Blue Lizard is the best sunscreen. It has zinc [oxide] and titanium dioxide which are the two most important ingredients against sun damage. I’ve used it for years. It does leave a slight white film on the skin (that’s the zinc) but it gives good protection. I play tennis almost daily in the Florida sun, so I appreciate the protection.”

Neutrogena Ultimate Sport Sunscreen ($6)

(Amazon)

“I have used this sunscreen while working outdoors sweating like crazy and have not burned. I like the Neutrogena products for my sensitive skin as I have no problems with them. This lotion is absorbed quickly and is non-greasy. You can’t even tell you have sunblock on. I mostly use it on my head and neck, and sometimes arms. It has not discolored my clothing. I would recommend this product to anyone who needs sun protection and has sensitive skin.”

Badger Baby Sunscreen Cream ($14)

(Amazon)

“I’m very satisfied with this product. Even though it’s thick, it spreads extremely easily. With a thin layer, you don’t get that white chalky look. I purchased this to be used on the face. My skin tends to be dry so I’m happy to find out that this cream is not drying. Even more happy that it doesn’t feel greasy either. I usually apply it after the face cream and before a thin layer of CC cream, then I’m good to go. The smell doesn’t bother me—it’s what chamomile and calendula smell like.”
