Yes, they’re ridiculously expensive—they cost more than some ski jackets—but they’re also the warmest and most adroit full-gauntlet gloves we’ve ever tested. Arc’teryx devised a way to laminate Gore-Tex’s best waterproof technology, ProShell, directly to the leather palm and nylon shell. There aren’t multiple layers of slippery fabric inside, just a superwarm and quick-wicking Polartec fleece liner. They also figured out a way to stitch it all together using barely-there seams—with none at all in the fingertips. You can literally pick up a dime.
