The Land Rover Defender is one of the most iconic adventure vehicles ever built, so when the two-millionth edition of this 4×4 rolled off the assembly line recently, it received appropriate fanfare.
Brand ambassador Bear Grylls, several Invictus Games athletes, and VIPs from the company and various charities helped employees assemble the vehicle last May at Land Rover’s Solihull, UK, facility. The one-of-a-kind Defender, designed by Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations team, features a “No. 2,000,000” badge, as well as a special plaque with the signatures of the assembling crew. The vehicle’s interior features graphics of Red Wharf Bay, where the design for the first Land Rover was etched in the sand.
The vehicle will be auctioned off this December, with proceeds benefiting the British Red Cross and Born Free Foundation.
