Most commuter bikes are kind of boring, and basic, by nature. But not so the steel Racer ($3,500) from Speedvagen. This minimalist-by-design city bike comes in a host of fun and classy colors, and is packed with smart features, like a two-speed, auto-shifting rear hub, a back-to-basics rear coaster brake, and a front rack for panniers. If you want, there's also an optional dyno hub and integrated light package.
