The ski season is still more than a few weeks away, unless you’re willing to risk the health of your gear (and knees). But some people just can’t wait to make turns: 36-year-old Italian ski instructor Marco Tomasello skied with a friend down a layer of ash covering Sicily’s Mount Etna, a 10,991-foot active volcano. No snow required:
