First energy drinks came in skinny cans. Then it was dissolvable packets. Now they’re available in inhalable powder form. Aeroshot, invented by Harvard biomedical engineering professor David Edwards, debuts in January. Each inhaler packs 100 milligrams of caffeine—as much as you’d get from a large cup of coffee—but because it’s absorbed through your mouth instead of your stomach, the jolt hits instantly. “It’s anytime, anywhere energy,” says Edwards. “You are liberated from carrying a can in your pocket.”
